Nonprofit & Community Services

Founded in 1988, Treasure Coast Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief organization on Florida’s Treasure Coast and the only food bank serving Indian River, Martin, St. Lucie, and Okeechobee counties. Each week, they provide nutritious food to more than 250,000 individuals, distributing over 55 million meals annually. Their work not only feeds families but also empowers long-term self-sufficiency by addressing the root causes of food insecurity.

Behind the scenes, refrigeration plays a critical role in making this mission possible.

Fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, and proteins make up a large portion of the nutritious food Treasure Coast Food Bank distributes. Reliable refrigeration ensures that these perishable items remain safe, high-quality, and ready for families who rely on them. From walk-in coolers and freezer storage to temperature-controlled transport, refrigeration allows the Food Bank to:

  • Preserve freshness of donated and rescued food
  • Reduce waste by extending shelf life
  • Store large quantities of perishable items for weekly distribution
  • Ensure food safety from delivery to community partners
  • Support year-round operations, even during Florida’s extreme heat

By keeping their cold-storage infrastructure dependable and efficient, refrigeration directly strengthens Treasure Coast Food Bank’s ability to fight hunger every single day.
